Pool Parties in Las Vegas: Dress Code
When the weather gets warm in Las Vegas, thousands flock to the nearest dayclub for a pool party experience like no other. Only in Vegas can you enjoy a full day of lounging by the pool, sipping signature cocktails, and listening to some of the best DJs in the business. While attending a pool party in Sin City is all about having fun, there are a few simple rules you must follow. Specifically, you need to follow the dress codes enforced by the local pool party venues. There are dress codes for both men and women that must be obeyed if you wish to gain access to the party.
If you’ve ever been to a Las Vegas nightclub, you know that tight dresses and heels are the standard. At a Las Vegas pool party, the dress code is a little different. While heels are still a must-have, you must swap your tight-fitting skirt for stylish swimwear. Whether you prefer a more modest one-piece or a scandalous two-piece, most bathing suits are suitable for adult pool parties. More important than the swimsuit itself is how you feel in it. It shouldn’t be too tight or too exposing. You want to feel comfortable and confident.
Avoid grabbing an old or worn swimsuit from your closet before heading to a Las Vegas pool party. These venues are considered upscale and luxurious and require you to dress to impress. This may mean splurging on a quality bikini in a modern style, such as a swimsuit with sexy cutouts or a striking pattern. While the dress code is different from club to club, most do not allow swimsuits that are see-through. You can also not switch your swimsuit top for a pair of pasties. Most store-bought bathing suits are acceptable.
If you try showing up to a pool party in just your bikini you’ll likely be turned away at the door. This is because many larger pool party destinations, including Wet Republic at MGM Grand, require some type of cover-up. Whether it’s a flowy sundress or lightweight wrap, a cover-up is a must if you wish to get through the casino and into the pool area. A maxi dress is a great option too. Pool parties in Las Vegas aim to have a classy feel and maintaining a little modesty at the pool is just the way to do it.
Men too must meet the dress code if they wish to gain entry into some of Las Vegas’ hottest pool parties. If you’re a guy, you’ll want to pick up a pair of trendy board shorts as you won’t get into the party without them. You also can’t arrive without a shirt, so grab a clean, nicely fitted tee to wear too. There are several pieces of clothing you will want to avoid at all costs, including baggy clothes, sports jerseys, sneakers, and chains. Remember that while you might have to wear extra layers to get into the club, you can shed some of these layers after arrival.
Footwear and accessories are also an important part of the dress code at pool parties in Las Vegas. As far as footwear goes, men should wear sandals or boat shoes. Although flip flops are often a go-to for women on beach days, they are generally not permitted at pool parties. Instead, slide on a pair of heels which will make your legs look great in a swimsuit. If you’re a woman, you’ll also want to take the time to do your hair and makeup as this can help you gain fast entry into the pool party.
