I appreciate you checking out my page. Since you're here, you must be interested in a legendary Las Vegas pool party and Vegas nightclub, and you want to know how to get on the guest list. The ins and outs of Las Vegas nightlife might seem daunting for first-time (and even veteran) partygoers, so you've come to the right place. We can definitely help you with that and more. In my Ultimate Guide to Las Vegas Guest Lists, every detail about the process is covered.

So, how do you go about getting into these clubs? For the concerts, the best option is to buy tickets. With the reputation of some of the musical artists,' they could actually be full-blown concerts.

For the guest list, in my Guide below, I will discuss how Las Vegas employs its very popular guest list system and how it differs from other cities. You can sign up on the list with us for any available event in the city that has a list on the link below.

Why Do Vegas Clubs Have a Guest List?

pool guest list girls

Las Vegas clubs implement lists as a means to maintain the exclusivity and high standards associated with their venues. By utilizing a guest list, clubs can carefully control the number of patrons entering their establishments, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. This practice enables them to maintain a desirable ratio of men to women, creating a balanced and diverse atmosphere. It also allows clubs to strategically manage their capacity, preventing overcrowding and ensuring that the ambiance remains sophisticated.

Depending on the event, the guest list is usually a great deal and the most popular method for the average club-goer. If you're not looking to buy bottle service or don't want to deal with trying to tip your way in, the guest list is a straightforward process where you get free entry or discounted entry, again, depending on the event.

Guest list check-in times are structured to drive people to the club early, typically when the club opens. Most headlining artists don't come on stage until after 1:00 AM, which most people are at the club to see, but having people come in via the guest list ensures that the club will be busy when their doors open as opposed to a huge rush of people trying to get in at 1:00 AM right before someone like Tiëstö hits the decks. By showing up early, you are essentially trading your time instead of paying a cover fee.

Disclaimer: While 90% of Vegas events will have a guest list, some Las Vegas events might not have one, or they will have one with extremely limited capacity. In these cases, it might be better to purchase presale tickets, buy bottle service, or talk to us about VIP Entry.

How Does the Las Vegas Club Guest List Work?

vegas clubbers

Some people come to Las Vegas and fantasize that being on the guest list is for a VIP (Very Important Person). They assume that getting on a list includes free entry and an open bar(link /nightlife-guide/open-bar-las-vegas.html ). In some cases, this might be true. However, the guest list is subject to capacity restrictions and club policies, so it does not guarantee entry for everyone, and it does not exempt individuals from adhering to the club's dress code or any other entry requirements, such as bypassing security. To truly understand how the club list system works, you need to know what's going on behind the scenes.

Over the years, we have focused more on bottle service and shied away from the list due in part to many disappointing situations and issues that our customers have encountered. When I was a promotions manager, I became privy to some of the tactics these clubs use to maximize their revenue, and it was frustrating. In this A to Z Guide, I will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to the list so you can decide if this is the right option for you.

By definition, the list is just that, a list of people who have been invited to the club by a Las Vegas promoter. But before we dig deeper, I want to explain the ways you can get into one of these clubs. Paying a minimum spend to reserve real estate in the club includes VIP entry. Most people get on the list the weekend they're in town or the day of the event they're trying to attend. You can get put on the list via a website like mine, or you get referred to a promoter or meet a promoter on the strip. The list will either get you free entry into the club, a reduced cover, or, in some cases, for the ladies, some free drinks or a girl comp table. Some older clubs have to offer incentives to get people to attend.

Guest List Pitfalls

marquee

Once you understand it, using the guest list is a straightforward process, but listed below are a few things often misconstrued that could lead to confusion at the door.

First come, first served – as we touched on above, being on the guest list does not vault you to the front of the line, especially for guy groups. Plan on coming early!

While supplies last – all promotions are only available while supplies last. If the clubs start to near max capacity, they may cut the list off early and start charging all the people who showed up late. Management reserves all rights to change pricing with regard to their business levels.

Girls, girls, girls – guest lists were mostly created to make sure girls and Vegas party girls and Las Vegas strippers get into the venue because, after all, what's a party without girls?! Most clubs have systems in place where all-female groups may get let in first or have an extended amount of time to check in, although that is not always the case.

Free Guest List Verses Presale Tickets

las vegas party girls

So, you're probably wondering if you should buy club tickets in advance or try out Vegas' guest list system for your club entry. In most cases, getting on the guest list is the most popular and most economical choice. However, as mentioned above, a list is not always available for events when they have a high-profile artist performing. Or you may have your evenings or days for the day parties planned in a way that does not allow you to come in time for the list check-in. In those cases, it might be better to purchase tickets in advance or seek other alternative venues with later guest lists. Remember, tickets guarantee entry; the guest list does not!

Depending on the venue, there are certain limitations on who can sign up on the guest list. Traditionally, the guest list is geared toward Vegas girls and female-heavy groups, although most clubs will allow groups with a 1:1 ratio – equal girls to guys. Guy-heavy or all-male groups are usually not allowed on the list or are recommended to purchase bottle service/presale tickets. As your Vegas Promoter, we are here to help.

Before you purchase tickets, please ask us first! We are always available to offer our insight and recommendations to best suit your needs and your budget.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Guest List Good

tao guests

The advantage of a guest list is that you can gain entry into the club for free or a reduced cover at a handful of venues, like Marquee nightclub(link to /nightclubs/marquee.html and TAO nightclub. TAO loves the ladies and offers them complimentary drinks for a specific timeframe. There is nothing better than getting into a club without paying a cover charge and then getting free drinks – score!

The early crowd is a great filler for the venue. Although the clubs will still make money off people spending dollars at the bar, there wouldn't be much of a party without the extra people. In my Chicago days, the average spend per person was around $20; in Vegas, with the high cost of drinks, it's closer to $40 - $60.

The Guest List Bad

vegas party

The bad part about the guest list is the long waits. Nobody wants to pay the full cover charge, so it's relatively easy to get on a list, which makes the demand incredibly high. When 1,500 people try to get in through one entrance, you can expect a long delay. I've heard it's sometimes three to four hours; that's a lot of precious time wasted!

Big events with high-profile headlining artists like The Chainsmokers, Tiësto, Meek Mill, and Calvin Harris are in high demand and have a huge following, so there may not even be a free list.

The next option would be to buy tickets, and as you would expect, on nights with high-demand artists, they sell a lot of tickets, and the line is incredibly long for those as well. The best thing to do would be to pay the extra money for expedited entry tickets or, even better, consider our VIP Entry or bottle service. Bottle service is the best way to enjoy a club. In Vegas, it's a "you get what you pay for" scenario.

The Guest List Ugly

vegas club vibe

On some nights, the clubs want people from the guest list to help fill the venue, but on other nights, when they have a high-demand artist and can sell enough tickets, they only use the list to fill in the gaps in the room. I'll explain how this works and how it used to bother me. Say you have a larger-than-life DJ like David Guetta or John Summit, and the club decides to offer a guest list for ladies for free and guys at a reduced cover. The promoters work their ass off all day, filling up the list since just about every clubber in town wants to check out these artists. On the night of, 2,000 - 2,500 people show up for the guest list, and now you have an enormous line that stretches for a million miles! Do you think all these people are going to get in? The answer is a big fat NO.

There is a ton of shenanigans going on behind the scenes. Say the club has a capacity of 4,000 people. They sold 2,500 tickets, and about 1,000 people will come in on the tables for bottle service. They have to save space for those 3,500 people who already paid for tickets and have bottle service reservations. That only leaves room for about 500 people on the list to come in between 10 PM and 1 AM. Here's the problem! The club only needed 500 people to hit their numbers, but now about 2,500 people are standing in line thinking they are getting in for free or at a reduced cover. WAKE-UP CALL! The club will slow down the line and only let in about 500 to 700, so all those people thinking they are getting a deal will wait multiple hours, and when 1 AM rolls around and the guest list ends, they'll start letting you in quicker for a high cover charge. CHA-CHING FOR THE CLUB!!

We call this "maximizing revenue" in the industry. You've already wasted 2-3 hours of your valuable time standing in line, so you might as well just pay the cover. I know firsthand this is how it goes because I was a promotions manager, and I used to get paid on the numbers we would generate from the list. I distinctly remember getting chewed out for not hitting our numbers on many big DJ nights, and I wondered how that was even possible when the line was two miles long. This is how the ball bounces in Las Vegas on high-demand nights. For a better experience, I highly recommend you buy tickets, use expedited entry, a bar card, a party pass(see below), or even better, consider one of our services because we deliver on our promises!

How Do I Get on the Guest List?

las vegas party time

Getting on the list is simple! Just click on the club you're interested in, submit their form(link to VVS form), and it will automatically connect you to a promoter. One caveat we'd like to mention is that we are not compensated for connecting you to the promoter in no way, shape, or form. Whatever happens between you and the promoter, the nightclub or pool party, and the list is not a reflection of my company; we are only doing this as a favor in appreciation for visiting our website.

What is a Free Guest List?

pretty girls

The FREE Guest List doesn't cost any money. If someone charges you to get on the list, they are ripping you off. Charging for a free list will highly jeopardize a promoter's relationship with the venue, and in many cases, this is considered stealing.

Do not pay to get on any guest lists?

vegas party

Just because it's free to get on the list does not mean the club still can't charge you at the door. That is an entirely different story, as mentioned above in the Good, Bad, and Ugly Section.

Does the Guest List Cost Money?

pretty vegas girls

Again, it's free to get on the list, but if someone charges for submission, they are ripping you off, plain and simple!

What Time Should I Arrive at the Venue?

las vegas party crowd

Based on the demand and the artist, every event is different. Your professional promoter will know the answer to this question, but we always recommend as early as possible!

What's the Difference Between a Guest List and VIP Entry?

party crowd vegas

Getting on the list for no cover or a reduced cover will get you entry through the list line. As previously mentioned, that line could be extremely long and slow. VIP Entry is a paid service where you agree to a fee to get walked in, typically through the table area.

What's the Difference Between Guest List and Tickets?

ticket buyers nightclub

Tickets are usually purchased in advance and will take precedence over people on the lists. By law, the club has to leave room for all paying ticket holders if capacity becomes an issue. The clubs would much rather sell tickets and have that money in the bank before the event; therefore, ticket holders will take precedence over people on any list.

What's the Difference Between the Guest List and Expedited Entry?

vip entry

At most clubs, there are two forms of expedited entry. For tickets purchased in advance via the ticket link, there is typically a separate line to bring expedited ticket holders in quickly. Also, several clubs offer an expedited general admission area for people willing to pay a premium to bypass the lines and get in quickly. There's usually a heavy surcharge to pay on the spot for expedited entry, but it beats waiting in a ridiculously long line. An example would be if the cover for males is $40, the on-the-spot expedited entry would be $80, and in a lot of cases, it's worth every penny! I have never waited more than 15 minutes to get into any club. I cannot imagine what it must be like to wait in line for hours. That's a lot of valuable time wasted!

How Do Promoters Get Paid?

party time

Promoter pay is relatively straightforward; most get a low hourly rate or small salary. They also get a commission based on the number of people they bring in. Many of the clubs will pay more for women than for men, and some events, they will not pay for men at all. A typical promoter payout might be $5 per girl and $3 per guy. These payoffs can change based on the artist and the demand for the evening.

Stealing from a Promoter

vegas party girl

Having worked as a promotion manager, I know every trick of the trade. I've seen it so many times where a group of guys is on the list, but they need an even ratio of ladies to men. To get in for free, reduced, or at all, some clubs, on some nights, require an even ratio. More shenanigans! So, they play this trick where they troll the casino for women to bring back to the club. In other words, they use these women to get the benefits of the list. More than likely, these girls are already on some promoter's list; a promoter has already talked to them and worked hard to get them to come to the club, and by you trying to recruit them, you are taking money out of someone's pocket. Essentially, this is stealing from that promoter! If Las Vegas security catches you in a recruit pursuit in the casino, more than likely, they will kick you out, and you might not get the chance to experience that club. If you're a group of guys and the list is free or reduced with an even ratio, and you don't have any ladies, you must buy tickets. PLEASE do not steal from a hard-working promoter. It's just wrong on every level!

Is there a Dress Code?

dress code

All nightclubs, pool parties, and strip clubs in Las Vegas have a mandatory dress code. If you stray from the sartorial guidelines, you will be denied entry and have to return to your accommodations to change, wasting precious moments of revelry.

What about Holidays/Fight Weekends?

dj life

Holidays and fight weekends can be tricky, especially at the more popular Latin Nights, Roof Top Clubs, Night Pool Parties, Hip-Hop Clubs, and EDM Clubs. Many high-demand places eliminate the list, so you will have to buy tickets, get a table, or pay the crazy cover price via general admission. Even on big weekends, the mid-level clubs still need help filling the room, so usually, you can find some free lists at these deal clubs.

Where Do I Go to Get in the List Line?

vegas nightout

Every nightclub and pool has a different setup, but that setup will change depending on the artist on certain events. The best thing to do is look for signage, ask a security guard or your promoter, and they will tell you exactly where to go.

Pregaming and Respect

vegas bottle service

Remember, the employees at these Vegas clubs are working in a high-pressure environment; respecting the staff should go without saying, but I feel compelled to say it anyway. Treating the staff with respect is not just a recommended behavior; it's a smart move. These folks are like the secret superheroes of the party scene, making sure your night is unforgettable. So don't be that person who thinks they can treat them like they don't matter. Show some respect and appreciation. They hold the power to make or break your day or night, so tip your bartenders and cocktail servers often and generously, and don't forget to say please and thank you. Remember, a little kindness goes a long way!

When it comes to pregaming, if you show up intoxicated or acting belligerent and out of control, the club reserves the right not to let you in, and trust me, for the safety and enjoyment of the other patrons, they will not let you in! Like all Vegas clubs, there is a strict security checkpoint. You will be required to empty your pockets, open your purses, and be scanned by a metal detector.

Do I have to be good-looking for the Guest List?

vegas girls day out

While being good-looking is not explicitly stated as a requirement to get on a Las Vegas guest list, it can certainly be advantageous. Las Vegas is known for its vibrant nightlife and exclusive venues, many of which prioritize aesthetics and a certain image. While it ultimately depends on the specific venue and the discretion of the door staff, looking your best may increase your chances of gaining entry. Dressing well, maintaining a polished appearance, and exuding confidence can all contribute to a positive impression.

Having said that, there have been situations in Vegas that have made national headlines where promoters asked for pictures before putting guests on the list. After some legal issues and discrimination lawsuits, the clubs loosened up the quality of crowd restrictions. I think there's still some funny business going on behind the scenes. Most of the promoters who work for these clubs know if they bring in bad quality people, they will not get paid for them, and they will likely get reprimanded and potentially fired if the quality of the crowd is not good.

If the quality of the crowd is less than desirable, the promoter has no incentive to put you on the list. At certain high-demand events, you will find clubs that are only interested in listing attractive women because they know they will sell enough tickets and table service to fill the club without any list. If you're in doubt, I would highly recommend buying tickets. By law, there's absolutely no way they can deny you a ticket.
