Midsummer Night’s Dream is the creation of no other than Playboy magazine founder High Hefner. While the man himself is no longer with us, his contributions live on. The Midsummer Night’s Dream Playboy Party was originally held at the Playboy Mansion in LA and was an invite-only celebration. When the Palms in Las Vegas had a Playboy Club, another version of the party was previously held there. In 2016, Tao Group formed
a partnership with Playboy and the party was moved to Light for one year. However, today the bash is held annually at Marquee Las Vegas.
Vegas is known for its glitz and glamour, but it’s been awhile since the city has seen themed parties featuring fun costumes for both staff and patrons. Party décor is not as common today as it was decades ago and Las Vegas parties have gradually transformed into more sleek and sophisticated events. The Midsummer Night’s Dream Playboy Party at Marquee is a once a year event and remains one of the biggest parties of the year.
Each year, the Midsummer Night’s Dream event hosts a number of celebrities and guest performers. In 2018, American singer and songwriter Halsey took the stage at the event at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, attracting thousands of party-goers. DJ Eric DLux headlined the party and there was numerous Playboy Playmates in attendance. In the audience, French Montana watched as Halsey performed her set, along with an audience of more than 4,000 fans. The following year, the event headliner was longtime Tao Group resident Mustard who has seen significant fame since releasing Perfect Ten. The event was also changed with the introduction of the Party with a Playmate ticket which cost $100 and granted ticket holders access to an open bar in the Library Room from 10:30 PM until midnight, along with a personal meet-and-greet with the laymates.
If you manage to grab tickets for this coveted event, you’ll want to ensure that you meet the strict dress code. Don’t arrive in your casual clothes thinking that you’re going to simply walk through the door. The lingerie party strongly encourages guests to party in their lingerie or sexy sleepwear which helps set the tone of the party. Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Playboy’s most exclusive parties and can only be found at Marquee nightclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The one-night event instantly transforms the appearance of Marquee into an enchanted forest, complete with whimsical décor and eye-catching costumes that will have heads turning. If guests are not captivated by their environment alone, they will be when the Playmates strut in wearing carefully selected attire to match the night’s theme. Some of the world’s most famous DJs can be found spinning their own hits into the night.
Marquee offers more than 60,000 square feet of space for this massive event that draws in thousands of party-goers. There are several spaces to choose from, allowing guests to spread out and enjoy the laidback atmosphere. The rooftop patio overlooks the bright lights of Vegas. There are also several special rooms throughout the space, including the Boom Box which is a mixed-format area, and the Library which acts as a
discreet VIP hideaway. There are also expansive glass window-like walls that overlook the famous Las Vegas Strip, giving guests the ultimate views of the lit-up city down below the party.
